Last weekend Sarah and I crashed my brother-in-law’s sister’s wedding. Previously I have had 2 chances to take photos at weddings with my Nikon D70, one at Lori and Angelo’s with the on board pop up flash and then at my brother’s wedding with my newly acquired SB-800 flash on the hot shoe. First time my results were adequate but really didn’t look much better than a point and shoot. Second time around my results were much better but I still hadn’t really grasped some of the basics like balancing background exposure and fill flash.
This time I’m definitely more pleased with the results and it is easy to see, here are the latest pics.
Paul and Grace’s Wedding (10/7/2006)
And for quality comparison:
heyyy, those are some great pictures. but that big tattoo kind of scared me.
Andrew, I’m glad to see these on your website, cuz now I have a good way to tell you thank you for taking them. The ones of the bridesmaids walking down the runner and also Grace and her dad, are better than the ones the professional photographer took. We just got to see those last night….all 1200 of them!
Amy, I’m not a big fan of big tattoos either, but Francesca is the sweetest girl you’d ever want to meet. Not at all scary.
Did you do any contrast or brightness adjusting? Wondering, cuz I sent some to Costco, off the original file, and the prints look darker than they do online. It was very cool to get some prints so quickly to be able to show them. Thanks again!
I’m glad you liked them. I did do adjusting so some of the originals are going to be darker since they were a little underexposed to begin with. If there are any of the originals I didn’t fix up that you like, let me know and I’d be happy to get them ready for printing.
