Blog Activity

I’m impressed, I couldn’t keep up with everyone’s blog posts and comments and ended up with a good list of about 80 items to go through from the past 3 days. Got busy upgrading my computer and getting ready to build a media server/HTPC. With so much activity it is definitely important to use an RSS reader like Google Reader which I outlined here.

  1. i like the google reader. the only thing is, i find that when i check all the different blog updates on the same site (reader) i am less likely to comment. i don’t know what that’s about. i think it has something to do with reading one blog post and then moving on to the next one without commenting…then forgetting about the first one i read. i need to make a more conscious effort to post comments now than i did when i would go from site to site to read new posts. haha. weird.

  2. I usually open up the list of subscriptions on the left and go through site by site, that way you get all the comments for a post together, then just click the post title and comment.

  3. I do the same thing. I read stuff in reader, and then never go to the site. It doesn’t help that they have almost all the blogs I go to blocked at work. I can read them in reader, but I can’t even visit to comment on them.

  4. Use the star system then you can go back and comment later and de-star the post.

I guess it still requires you to remember to go back and do something, but if you’re new to the google reader eventually it’ll just snap and make sense.
