Democrats acknowledge Global Cooling during tonight’s debate

February 26th, 2008 at 05:37pm SIKE! Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling Looks like Global Warming fears are being further debunked and there's more than enough data to back up the idea that we are actually cooling down. The data shows that warming from the past century has been wiped out in one year.  I wonder how long it will take for politicians and the media to acknowledge we're at the mercy of the Sun's solar activity so we can put this climate change garbage behind us. Seriously though, the Earth's climate has been and will be in constant flux. One thing is certain though:  climate change will end when the Sun burns itself out in a few billion years. If humans are still around and we haven't been wiped out by an asteroid or some disease, I don't think they'll be arguing about carbon dioxide's affect on global temperature.

Global Warming Causes Record Low Temperatures

December 20th, 2007 at 05:25pm Well that's what the kool-aid drinking, Al Gore nutjobs would like you to believe. Geophysicist David Deming, possibly a bit more scientifically credible than a former vice president and presidential candidate, has a good piece of commentary up at The Washington Times, Year of global cooling. Great quote at the end, "Nothing creates cognitive dissonance in the mind of a true believer." I wonder if global warming caused this year's below average hurricane activity too? And if you need some ammo for creating cognitive dissonance, the Senate released a report that lays the smackdown to the idea that there is a consensus among scientists about man-made global warming, Over 400 Prominent Scientists Disputed Man-Made Global Warming Claims in 2007. Just read through the highlighted quotes from various scientists around the world. My favorite is the following from space physicist Dr. Eigil Friis-Christensen who is the director of the Danish National Space Centre, a member of the space research advisory committee of the Swedish National Space Board, a member of a NASA working group, and a member of the European Space Agency who has authored or co-authored around 100 peer-reviewed papers and chairs the Institute of Space Physics:
"The sun is the source of the energy that causes the motion of the atmosphere and thereby controls weather and climate. Any change in the energy from the sun received at the Earth's surface will therefore affect climate."
Hmm is it possible that the big ball up in the sky, which our planet would be a lifeless hunk of rock without, can cause fluctuations in temperature?

South Africa sets 54 all-time weather records

May 23rd, 2007 at 02:03pm http://www.capetimes.co.za/index.php?fArticleId=3844594 Now if don't bother opening the article, that's 54 low temperature records. I thought the planet was at it's warmest point ever and the ice caps are melting and the seas are rising drastically and the polar bears are going to die and maybe global warming is just a bunch of crock.

Killer hurricane season predicted, last year too

May 22nd, 2007 at 12:04pm Just saw this headline on Drudge: "Up to 10 hurricanes could form in the Atlantic this year: US forecasters..." This would be fine and dandy except they predicted almost the exact same thing last year and guess how many actually formed? 5. Yup 5. I know some of you are saying how can that be! There is always at least 10 hurricanes every year! People lie, statistics don't. Below is a quick rundown of averages over 50 years and predictions from last year. Funny how the 2005 and early 2006 predictions are close to this year's estimated 10 hurricanes. But follow the table down as the hurricane season progresses. Funny how that number keeps going down and converges pretty darn close to the historic average.

Predictions of tropical activity in the 2006 season (from Wikipedia)

Source Date Named storms Hurricanes Major hurricanes
CSU Average (1950–2000) 9.6 5.9 2.3
NOAA Average 6–14 4–8 1–3
Record high activity 28 15 8
Record low activity 4 2 0
CSU 5 December 2005 17 9 5
CSU 4 April 2006 17 9 5
NOAA 22 May 2006 13–16 8–10 4–6
CSU 31 May 2006 17 9 5
CSU 3 August 2006 15 7 3
NOAA 8 August 2006 12–15 7–9 3–4
CSU 1 September 2006 13 5 2
CSU 3 October 2006 11 6 2
Actual activity 10 5 2
My prediction for the hurricane season? It will probably be close to the historic average with a chance of being higher and a chance of being lower.

Good Rebuttal to the Global Warming Hysteria

March 12th, 2007 at 06:45pm Came across this BBC documentary, The Great Global Warming Swindle, today and it pretty much covers and confirms all of my suspicions about the hysteria surrounding global warming (which is morphing into "climate change"). If you have the time give it a watch, it is definetely worth it, stuff you won't hear anywhere from the mainstream media.

Edit: Updated the video, looks like Google is deleting them so let me know if it dies and I'll get you an updated link.
