Came across this BBC documentary, The Great Global Warming Swindle, today and it pretty much covers and confirms all of my suspicions about the hysteria surrounding global warming (which is morphing into “climate change”). If you have the time give it a watch, it is definetely worth it, stuff you won’t hear anywhere from the mainstream media.

Hello! came across this site looking for information on the flickr widget, but i guess you’re not using it. Thought you should know that the documentary you speak of is Channel 4, not BBC and that some of the scientists involved are concerned that their views have been distorted and taken out of context, and that the makers cynically manipulated data from the 1970s which conviently doesn’t show the rise in temperatures of the last 20-30 years.

Ah I wasn’t really aware that it was shown on Channel 4 and not the BBC, shows I don’t know much about your television across the pond.
My host crashed and I lost a couple comments from the past few days where another poster brought up the same concerns you have about distortion and context but the sources he provided (from the scientists themselves) were a little inconclusive. Actually I don’t think the program tried dodging the fact that it has warmed in the past 30 years (I’m guessing that’s what killed the hysteria around “Global Cooling”).
The biggest thing I took away from it is that there is insufficient evidence to link human carbon emissions to that rise in temperature. The most logical theory to me is that warming and cooling cycles on Earth are caused by increased and decreased periods of solar activity in the Sun.
The end is near.
All the previous myths..Global Cooling, the Population Bomb, oil running out by 2000, the Ozone Hole, Y2K…etc, all wrong.
The AWG crowd have little time left.
Then again the Y2K and Ozone hole were both real problems which were alleviated with real solutions.
Oil is running out and there certainly is a population bomb. Both are a matter of when not if.
Global cooling had a small following in the scientific community. More papers back then were pushing a future of global warming.

the Ozone hole is alive and well and reaches sizes larger than during the period of most hysteria during its annual cycle from nothing to huge.
You do not hear much about it probably because the scientists are working hard to figure out what is REALLY happening and don’t want to be embarrassed again!!
Of course, the amount of UV-B reaching the southern oceans during the holes season is still substantially less than what normally reaches the oceans around the equator!!
Oh, and plant sensitivity to UV-B is less than half what responsible scientists assumed during the scare!!
