I forget how much I like Weird Al

It seems like every couple years Weird Al comes out with a new album and it sucks me in. I guess his satire gives you a good chance to stand back and just laugh at what has been going on in pop culture. Just to give you an idea about my history of being a Weird Al fan, I think Alapalooza from 1993 was the first CD I ever owned. Here’s the single “White and Nerdy” off his new album “Straight Outta Lynwood”.

  1. Not to take anything away from your post, but I just wanted to mention Kurtis also posted this on his recently resurrected blog. Make sure you head on over there too. :)

  2. I watched this on youtube the other day–i’m old enough now that i don’t know what song he’s parodying-i’ll have to find out. he’s great.

  3. did you hear about the “AOL First View” being cancelled due to the video for “white and nerdy” being leaked on the internet… Al writes about it on his myspace blog

Al is good stuff I was laughing when I heard the title for the new album!

  4. Richard and I saw him last night too the line was long (not that we waited in it) and he was wearing his “Straight Outta Lynwood” clothes.

I really wanted to yell something like :
“Downey’s OG AL, we have the old McDonalds!”

    But I lost the nerve!

There was also a creepy guy in his 40’s walking around with his video camera asking youngish looking girls questions about Al, then he’d finish the *interview* with: “are you over 18?” I did have the nerve to tell him: “hey now that was creepy” then he left the store. Good Times!
